Acrylic Sizing is a water-based preparation medium designed for sealing painting surfaces before applying primer. It is intended for use on canvas, wood, stone, fiberboard, and other porous materials. The sizing penetrates the upper layers of the surface, binds fibers, and fills gaps, preventing gesso from seeping through to the reverse side.
After drying, it forms a strong, transparent, and elastic film that does not yellow, crack, or dissolve in water over time. It preserves the natural texture of the surface while providing excellent adhesion for subsequent layers of acrylic primer.
Suitable for artists who prepare their own painting grounds, this acrylic sizing can be applied in thin, even layers using a brush or palette knife. It ensures durability of the support and improves the overall stability of the painting surface.
