Rainbow Glazes on Ceramics: Brian Giniewski's Art Studio

Rainbow Glazes on Ceramic by Brian Giniewski in His Art Studio
Philadelphia-based ceramic artist Brian Giniewski creates rainbow mugs and vases that look as if they’ve been drizzled with sweet icing.
He first started exploring this creative art on weekends while teaching art at a university. After six years, Giniewski decided to turn his passion into a full-time job and went into business with his wife, Krista, in May 2016.

With the goal of creating "original ceramic vessels that make people happy," Giniewski developed "drippy" glazes for ceramic vases, contrasting with the grainy, matte surface of the clay in various colors. From pastel shades to marbled and speckled patterns. Each piece comes out of the kiln completely unique thanks to the flowing nature of the glaze.

After nearly a year in a small studio in Port Richmond, Philadelphia, he needed to expand his studio. After a successful campaign, Giniewski was able to move into a factory building with better equipment and get back to creating productively.
The beautiful vessels are safe for storing food or drinks when hand-washed. You can also make similar mug designs yourself at home using ceramic paints from our selection.

Feel like experimenting? Try this modeling clay, for example.

Another interesting effect you can create on ceramics is the use of the so-called ebru art technique. To create it, drip magic marble paints onto water, make a pattern, then dip a mug or bowl into it.

Wishing you many creative and lovely moments, your friend Sabína.
